Welcome
We are really chuffed to welcome New Zealand’s premier knitwear company, Untouched World to Brown’s.
Founder Peri Drysdale’s desire was to create a brand where
“fashion could become a vehicle for change”
and to show the world that
“you don’t have to give up style, luxury and great design to be good to the planet”.
What Makes Untouched World So Special
The knitwear produced by Untouched World is wholly sustainable and has been recognised by the United Nations as the first fashion company in the world to be given permission by UNESCO to carry the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (UN DESD) logo on its labelling.
Presidents Clinton and Obama, and Prince Harry have all supported this company through patronage and promotion,
not only of their sweaters, but also in their approach to sustainability and education.
Untouched World were a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, working to build programmes with a focus on water as a key life resource.
The Fibres
Untouched World bring a level of luxury to jumpers that is second to none. Their development of fibres, such as Merino, Cassum™ and Kapua™ into knitwear creates fabrics that are soft, silky, warm and environmentally responsible.
Cassum™ is an exciting new development made from a blend of 60% Merino, 20% dehaired Possum fibre, 10% Cashmere and 10% silk.
Their Kapua™ garments made from a blend of 40% dehaired Brushtail possum fibre, 40% Cashmere and 20% silk have an incredibly soft feel. They don’t prickle or itch and can be worn next to your skin.
Untouched World’s men’s knitwear offers warmth and comfort with a classic, timeless style. Quality and sustainability are everything. Each piece is made at their own workrooms in Christchurch, New Zealand with meticulous attention to detail; they believe it’s the little things that matter.
Pretty much how we view men’s wear at Brown’s: quality is always the best option.
Innovation and Design
In designing products for a sustainable lifestyle, Untouched World uses the research and development nature has done over billions of years. Nature created the most technologically inspiring solutions for comfort and survival in the most challenging environments. Nature needs a helping hand to transform raw materials into knitwear that is uplifting, functional, and respectful to the environment.
Design for sustainability means materials and processes are developed and sourced to give the greatest performance with minimal environmental impact. Untouched World™ seeks to maximise versatility, durability, and to re-use and recycle. They seek to minimise the use of toxic chemicals, waste and adverse impacts on biodiversity, working to optimise the total environmental impact during the lifetime of their products.
Because Brown’s focus on the quality of clothes available
we are rapt to welcome a sustainable and environmentally friendly company such as Untouched World.
Joining several other brands that are designing and manufacturing clothes now being sold at Brown’s,
Untouched World are already becoming a favourite.
