Right up there is the range of brands we are able to bring to you.
We do, and always have, stocked some of the well known brands, like Levi’s, Akubra, Wrangler, Thomas Cook and Bonds, just to name a few, but we do have lines that could be considered a bit more boutique. Cam and the team at Brown’s are constantly on the lookout for menswear that is high in quality, stylish and often not readily available at major department stores. You may not have heard of them, but you are sure to like them.
It’s these clothing brands that set us apart from the generic high street stores. Many of the menswear stores and departments have a range of fashion that is seen in abundance. Through our effort in securing smaller businesses and designers, we can offer clothes that won’t see you wearing the same outfit as someone else at a social event.
Visiting the suppliers directly also enables us to get their latest items and creates a great relationship which leads to priority ordering. As we cater for quite a few larger sizes, this is one service we offer that many don’t. Direct communications with our suppliers means that if we don’t have the correct size in a suit, pant, shirt or jacket for you or the colour you’re after, we can order it in just for you. If its available, we’ll find it for you!
This is really great for wedding parties as it means we can make sure that all of the guys are in matching outfits and fitted perfectly. With larger stores, it is what’s on the rack that’s available, and often that’s just not good enough.
Recently we have been expanding our range to include specialty items, such as the merino-possum blends crafted across the ditch in New Zealand. The quality of such knitwear is becoming globally recognised and having developed a sound relationship with a few Kiwi fashion houses, we are able to offer them to you. One of the things that attracted us to MKM and Untouched World in particular, was the mandate to be as ecologically friendly as possible. Alongside supporting smaller companies this is something we are endeavouring to promote.
Many of the fashion houses we deal with are also local. As a business supported by and for locals, we love being able to find local menswear companies and offering them support by having their stock here for you. Hoodies, sweats and caps from Mubbie and top of the line accessories from Torquay based Peggy & Finn illustrate the diversity of our range.
One thing missing from most of the big name stores is the attention to you. As soon as you step through the doors we are here to assist you in selecting the clothes that will suit your style and fit you perfectly. Peter and Cam have trained the team to measure and fit you so that everything is just right. A recent gent was surprised to see us walking around with tape measures around our necks…something he hadn’t seen for years!
Many are also delighted to learn that we have a talented tailor on hand to alter your outfit so that it fits perfectly. Not everyone can buy directly from the in store stock and fit immaculately, so being able to measure you up and meet your individual needs is something to appreciate. No need to buy and then hunt down a tailor, we handle everything for you.
Once you’ve been in to meet us, you can also join our Rewards Program. Each time you purchase from us, we tally the points and in July and January you receive a voucher for a discount based upon what you’ve spent. When your birthday month comes around, check your emails for a $10 voucher to use during your special month. Its a way we love to support you for supporting us.
